Piano trio (violin, cello, piano)

Though not a set of variations in the traditional sense, this piece draws upon the five notes of the opening piano statement to create a medley of varying themes and accompaniment patterns while creating a nostalgic portrait of the moods and nuances of the country for which it is named.
