Program note
"A slow piece full of song entitled 'Inward Journey' is followed by a contrasting fast work 'In high Spirits.' Fast, noisy passages are interspersed with slower, lyrical melodies. This piece should be played by a pianist of great technical competence who enjoys playing contemporary music. The first, slow piece, although not technically difficult, requires great musical insight.

Composed for the 25th anniversary of the Archiv Frau und Musik. Dedicated to my dear friends Isolde and Dieter Backes."
