Bio
Marliese Zeiner completed her schooling in Dinslaken in 1964 and went on to study French and Geography at the Friedrich-Willhelm University in Bonn in order to qualify as a teacher. She began studying music, with main subjects piano and composition, in 1968 at the Conservatory and at the University of Music in Cologne, completing her studies in 1979 with a diploma in composition and a state qualification as a music teacher. She was then appointed as a teacher at the College of Education in Bonn. From 1974 to 1980, she worked as a teacher and director at a number of music schools. Marliese Zeiner worked as a teacher at the University of Music in Cologne for nine years until her appointment as Professor of Theory of Music at the University of Music and Drama in Hanover. Her works comprise compositions for choirs, solo instruments, orchestra, and chamber music.
